Who can apply?
Telemachus is for young people aged 18–29 from around the world. Athena is for women above the age of 22, with no upper age limit. Although the application announcement refers broadly to women of any age, it directs applicants to these programme eligibility guidelines.
Applicants with fluent English and either a completed bachelor’s degree or at least five years of equally relevant professional experience receive priority. Candidates should demonstrate motivation, commitment and critical thinking.
What the mentoring programmes offer
Mentees work toward their own learning objectives with support from thought leaders and professionals across fields including business, entrepreneurship, public policy, media, innovation, technology and academia. The eight-month experience helps participants build skills, consider new perspectives and develop their professional and personal goals.
The programmes promote social impact and accountable leadership in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Mentors volunteer their time and expertise. This is a mentoring opportunity; it does not award a certificate, qualification or degree.
What to prepare
Prepare a motivational letter explaining your aspirations, what you hope to achieve and why mentoring would help you. Make your goals specific and show your commitment to learning and acting on feedback. Review the application form for all requested information before submitting.
How to apply for the 2027 cycle
Visit the application page, review the eligibility criteria and complete the embedded application form by 23 November 2026. Submit early, as a closing time and time zone have not been stated.
The guidelines also allow applicants to email their motivational letter to mentoring@globalthinkersforum.org, with “Mentee Application” and the programme name in the subject line. For the current cycle, follow the instructions on the application page.
Commitment expected from selected mentees
Selected participants should be open-minded and candid, keep the mentoring relationship confidential, arrive punctually and respect their mentor’s time. Be receptive to feedback and ready to work toward the goals you set together.
