ChangemakerXchange is recruiting its second Changemakers for Youth cohort. The programme connects social entrepreneurs working to strengthen young people’s skills and agency.
Deadline: 9 November 2026
Location: Online programme and an in-person summit; eligible countries apply
Who can apply?
Applicants should be aged 18–35 and hold a leadership role in an active youth-focused initiative. Eligible locations include Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Switzerland, Tunisia, and Germany; German projects must create tangible impact in Eastern Germany. Participants need sufficient English and availability for the programme.
What the opportunity offers
Participants receive tailored capacity-building, community connections, and opportunities for cross-border collaboration. Summit accommodation, catering, and local transport are covered; participants are generally responsible for travel and visa costs.
Leadership and initiative criteria
- Applicants must have a leadership or decision-making role in an active youth-development venture; being the founder is not essential, but a non-leadership employee or volunteer role is insufficient.
- The initiative should show a clear understanding of the problem, practical impact or credible potential, innovation in context, and scope to grow, be replicated or influence wider systems.
- Tested projects with traction are preferred; early-stage initiatives can qualify where potential and preferably a pilot are demonstrated.
- Participants need an entrepreneurial, collaborative mindset and sufficient English. Full participation in all summit days is required, and a selected place cannot be transferred to another colleague.
Support and costs
- Custom online capacity-building, a five-day residential summit, expert and partner connections and lifelong access to the ChangemakerXchange network.
- Seed funding opportunities for cross-border collaborative projects or joint learning that strengthen youth agency.
- Summit accommodation, catering, local transport, materials, venue and facilitation are covered.
- Participants usually cover travel and visas, but may request a needs-assessed travel stipend for eligible transport, visa, required insurance or necessary layover costs. Support depends on available funding.
- Transfers to the departure airport and meals or accommodation outside official summit dates remain personal expenses. Visa-support documents can be provided.
Second-cohort timeline
- Applications: 13 October–9 November 2026.
- Online interviews: 20 November–19 December 2026; final decisions scheduled for 13 January 2027.
- Two-hour online kick-off: first week of February 2027; needs assessment in late February.
- Five-day summit: mid-March 2027; exact dates and location to be confirmed.
- Public cohort announcement and collaborative projects: late March 2027 onwards, with three ninety-minute check-ins during the programme.
