Applications are open for the World Economic Forum Technology Pioneers 2027 cohort. Each year, the Forum selects 100 early-stage companies from around the world whose technologies have the potential to improve society and the planet.
The community forms part of the Forum’s Innovator Communities and helps mission-driven start-ups develop connections and expand their impact.

Who should apply?
The official application form identifies these requirements:
- An innovative technology or business model with the potential for substantial, lasting social or environmental impact.
- Series A funding received, with a minimum of US$10 million.
- A company less than 10 years old.
- Independent and privately held status.
The Forum encourages applications across industries and regions. Leadership should align with its mission and be ready to contribute time and expertise.
What selected companies gain
Members can connect with entrepreneurs, participate in initiatives and partnerships, share thought leadership through the Forum’s Stories, and access research and insights. The community offers opportunities to engage with global leaders on challenges affecting people and the planet.
CEO involvement and commitments
The application form strongly encourages CEOs to complete the application themselves so the Forum can understand their motivations. Selected CEOs are expected to contribute at least five hours each quarter and attend at least one global event annually during their tenure.
2027 selection timeline
- Applications: October 2026 to 31 January 2027; closing at midnight Pacific Time.
- Review and selection: February–April 2027.
- Public announcement: June 2027.

Start early and allow time for your CEO to review the submission. The form says incomplete sessions are retained for one week after the last activity, after which applicants must restart.
