Seize the moment; make use of the time you have, let the bygones be bygones, over-thinking make situations complicated and hundreds of more clichéd sentences like these make their way into our lives through the course of our life. With the hustle-bustle and chaos in modern times, nearly half of the population is depressed or prone to anxiety. So stop worrying and start living. We witness troubled youth, drug addicts, suicide attempters and a bunch of teenagers who are so carried away thinking about their futures around us. Life has become a race to achieve more and earn more.
Being an avid reader, I once stumbled upon a book in my locality written by Dale Carnegie which is titled as;‘’How to Stop Worrying and Start Living” & quote; just like so many books claim to be the game changers in terms of boosting morale and giving a pathway to those who are lost, I picked up the copy and went home.
After a few months of letting the book get dusty on my shelf, one night I picked it up because the inner demons were causing turmoil and I had been insomniac for the last few days.
‘The book changed my life' it is the most absurd sentence we can hear. It's not a fancy fairytale where one Abra Kadabra of a wand can turn the world upside down in a single wave.
No book or movie has the power to change you until you want it to be. We are the writers of our own stories. Although, I must say the book helped me gather my thoughts and all the sentences about ‘seizing the moment’ and ‘living in the present’ started making sense. I once heard from someone that if worrying could solve a problem the most worrying person would be the happiest.
As Dale Carnegie says " nothing can bring you peace but yourself". We indulge in over thinking about the future at the cost of losing our precious present.
It is not worth it. Self-worth and self-love should be prioritized at the utmost. I would rather plan and live in the moment than trying to stand out and fit in where I don't belong. The competition of getting better and better and acing the triumphs has denied men the small delights of enjoying nature and building relationships. This worry affects us even in our deep slumber. I see a pack of people around me who are either insomniac or have nightmares now and then. If you think about it, the harsh reality is materialism. With the growing capitalistic, materialism is engraved into our souls. We need to stop worrying about the unseen and start living what we have. Surrounded by luxury brands and lifestyle, we find ourselves mere misfits in the mosaic of complexity.

In order to live healthy and happy, we should invest in our dreams and start taking pleasure in small things. To accept ourselves for who we are is the key to embrace the heights and reach for the stars. Be it any gender, age or social class, the originality and acceptance for one's uniqueness is the ultimate secrets of success in this mystery of the universe. I had a hard time coping with the ideological differences with society. Whether it is our family ties or job arena, we millennials are going through a constant transition that demands abrupt growth in our ideals but our strong cultural connections and traditions from generations are trying to clasp our feet and hold us back into the roots. With all the mess around and the development of technology, it is hard to find a corner of solitude. We have forgotten how to live because we are too busy worrying about what we don’t have.
In order to achieve happiness, we need to replace the time spent or I must say wasted, into meditation and knowing our self. I remember I used to visit the graveyard of my village, sitting in that quiet serenity and that sense of calm would awaken my senses and keep me grounded. It would make me realize the importance of life and I would return blissful and grateful for the blessings I have. Fatigue of achieving more, earning more, working in a multi-national company or getting a degree from any of the Ivy League schools besides controlling our Instagram page, updating our knowledge by reading Facebook posts and the following twitter and so on can be quite tiresome. With a head full of ideas and only 24 hours to manage, life can become a race. These technological advancements have blurred the idea of fact and fiction for us. We are confused and lost. We don't know what to believe and what to do, in these times self-control and self-love.
At the end of the day, nothing is more important than our connection with the Ultimate source of our creation in order to find peace. Be it any religion, caste or ethnicity we all believe in a Divine power which is capable o turn our lives around. We need to develop the problem-solving approach rather than creating more problems in this chaos. Follow the motto and saying ‘' live and let live'' ultimate happiness comes with care and kindness we cannot stay at peace if we have a chain of bad deeds and causing pain at the end of the day. Our youth needs to get aware of the importance of originality, self-love and strive for happiness. Assess yourself every night for your deeds. If we reflect upon our daily lives and do's and don' ts, every day will be better than yesterday and less worrisome.
Be a mirror towards your actions to know how high you are flying or how deep you are diving. Self- assessment, and forgiveness is the best way to ensure happiness. We get hold of our pasts and guilt which we bury in our deep unconscious and they constantly nag us and disrupt our day to day life. If we bring them to the forefront, solve them and finish them once and for all they will have no more power over us we will start living with its actual essence and meaning. Our future is the bi-product of our present and our present is the outcome of our past. The only time we have power on in present. Change it and re-design your life. Stop worrying and start living because we all deserve it and we all can.
