Hamburg Sustainability Conference Youth Ambassadors 2027

The Hamburg Sustainability Conference is recruiting young community leaders for its 2027 Youth Ambassador cohort. The programme includes the conference on 31 May–1 June 2027.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be aged 18–30, come from and live in an eligible Global South country, and demonstrate sustainability leadership. English communication skills and availability for preparation are required. Applicants should also be available for roundtables planned for 7–11 December 2026.

What the opportunity offers

Selected ambassadors receive covered travel and accommodation, opportunities to contribute to conference formats, and connections with other youth leaders and decision-makers.

What participants will do

• Contribute practical sustainability solutions and community experience to discussions with global decision-makers.
• Help shape conference activities and participate in sessions as a speaker or attendee according to expertise.
• Connect with more than 1,600 leaders, journalists and local youth in Hamburg.
• Collaborate with the international ambassador cohort before, during and after the conference.

Selection requirements

• Be 18–30 and both come from and reside in an eligible Global South country listed in the application’s Country of Residence selector, using OECD DAC eligibility.
• Demonstrate community leadership, concrete sustainability solutions and the ability to mobilize supporters.
• Communicate confidently in English and commit time to programme preparation and active conference participation.

Programme dates and funding

• Apply by 19 October 2026.
• Be available for travel to the planned roundtable series during 7–11 December 2026; the partner-country location will be communicated during selection.
• Attend the Hamburg conference on 31 May–1 June 2027.
• Programme travel and accommodation are covered.
